Our Courses - An Overview

We seek to teach, train and equip those that want to learn more about the life that comes from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord; preparing them for future ministry.

Taking time out to focus on your relationship with the Lord Jesus and spend time learning and sharing with others is something that our students would recommend to anyone thinking of attending Capernwray New Zealand.

MBS - Monavale Bible School

The Monavale Bible School programme is designed to guide students towards knowing the indwelling person of the risen Lord Jesus Christ through the careful teaching, study, and application of God's Word, in order to prepare them for joyful Christian living and effective service.

We utilise resident teachers and guest speakers from around the world so that by the end of the course, students should have gained:
  • A good knowledge of the Bible and the application to life
  • An ability in a range of ministry skills.
  • An understanding of the world of missions
The courses are tertiary level 3 to 4 and designed for students aged 18 years and over. However, provision is made for 17 year old applicants at the Monavale Bible School at the discretion of the course director and with a parent or guardian’s written permission.

The 20 week programme runs from early February to early July and then again from late July until mid-December. There is a choice of a 30 week programme running from October to Early July. Students can also choose to extend to a 40 week option. The ABS course also be taken with the Monavale course in various combinations.

As well as the familiar Bible School programme, we also offer two other course types at Capernwray New Zealand (ABS and BML). The ABS course can be combined with the Monavale course to make a 10-week, 20-week, 30-week or 40-week MBS/ABS programme.

ABS - Adventure Bible School

Based at our Adventure Lodge on Lake Karapiro. A six week adventure based programme that combines Bible teaching and outdoor adventure. Click here for more details.

MBS / ABS Combinations

There are a number of options to experience both the Monavale Bible School and Adventure Bible School programmes.

The 10-week option includes the 6-week ABS course, and concludes with the last 4-weeks of the MBS term. Be prepared… many who get a short taste of MBS decide to stay on longer!

The 20-week, 30-week or 40-week options includes the 6-week ABS course, contained within the MBS programme (giving 14, 24 or 34 weeks at Monavale either at the start or near the end of the MBS course depending on the particular ABS dates selected).
